LAPO Curtails Lassa Fever Outbreak In Communities

The Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) has intensified Lassa fever awareness campaign in vulnerable communities across the country towards forestalling the further outbreak of the disease.

The community intervention programme was carried out in major markets and streets in Edo, Lagos, Oyo and Abuja, reaching over 10,321 persons including children.

The community members were enlightened on the causes, signs, symptoms and prevention of Lassa fever which includes keeping food safe in rodent-proof containers and keeping the home clean to discourage rodents from entering.

The health awareness programme demonstrates the commitment of LAPO to the health and overall well-being of members of the public, according to LAPO Health Manager, Dr Obadiora Ayo Honestus.
