Int’l Women’s Day: FIDA, LAPO Advocate Gender Equality

The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) have called on Nigerians to press for gender equality towards bridging the gender gap.

They made the call at a seminar organised by LAPO to commemorate the International Women’s Day in Abuja under the theme; “Fundamentals for Progress for Nigerian Women.”


WFI, LAPO-C4 Partner Harps On Regular Cancer Screening

Women Friendly Initiative (WFI), a LAPO-C4 partner NGO in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has urged Nigerians to embrace regular cancer screening towards early detection and treatment of the disease.

Speaking during cancer awareness campaign in Kuje, Abuja, the WFI Director of Programmes, Mrs Frances Teshoma said early detection and treatment would curtail the rising number of deaths and achieve zero level of cancer cases in the country.


LAPO Empowers 49,481 Community Members With Health Services

Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) improved the reproductive, maternal and child health of 49,481community members across the country with health services in February 2018 with over 43,889 persons screened for various ailments including HIV, malaria, blood pressure, blood sugar and hepatitis.


LAPO Improves Social Skills of 51,153 Women

LAPO improved the social skills of 51,153 community members who are mostly women in target states in February 2018. This has enabled them challenge archaic socio-cultural and traditional practices inhibiting their progress and enjoyment of good life.
