Advocacy For Social Change
The advocacy programme of LAPO seeks to influence policymakers, resource holders, access providers and individuals to implement policies that bring about positive changes in the lives of the poor and the marginalized. At local and national levels, LAPO has created platforms where policy and decision makers address social issues. We regularly organize fora where policymakers, members of the civil society, youths and community leaders meet to dissect and address burning social issues.
Annual Development Forum
The LAPO Annual Development Forum is a vital component of LAPO programmes aimed at stimulating investigation into the nature and causes of poverty. The forum provides opportunity for persons; development practitioners, clients, scholars, donors, professional institutions, religious and traditional bodies who are involved in development and poverty alleviation to design realistic roadmaps to attain enhanced performance of development organizations.
Town Hall Meeting
Town Hall Meeting is another strategy that has been adopted by LAPO to stimulate development-oriented discussions at the grassroots. The programme provides a common platform for government functionaries, opinion leaders and community members to discuss and exchange ideas on how best to fast-track community development.
