LAPO Relaunches Integration Project With MfB
Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) has relaunched its integration project with the LAPO MfB, which ensures that clients of the bank equally access health services.
The project is structured to improve the health status of beneficiaries by reducing hospital attendance and the cost or burden of ill health due to preventable diseases and related conditions.
Speaking, the Consultant, LAPO Health Project, Professor Omokhoa Adeleye said the project will entail the organization carrying out health sensitization and screening of clients as well as build referral linkages with health institutions and other social support facilities.
The health intervention would include sensitisation on malaria, modern family planning methods, pregnancy care, cervical cancer, hepatitis-B, child immunization, diarrhoea in children, HIV/AIDS, and the dangers of self-medication.
The project is being implemented across the country including the FCT, with LAPO health staff deployed to LAPO MfB branches nationwide. This initiative has expanded the number of states previously covered by LAPO with regards to health screening and sensitisation activities carried out amongst clients of LAPO MfB.
