LAPO  Makes Case for Maternal Health And Rights

As a part of its efforts to commemorate April 11, 2021, International Day for Maternal Health and Rights, Lift Above Poverty Organisation, LAPO carried out community sensitization aimed at improving maternal health in Nigeria.

The campaign, which was held in Benin City, Edo State, featured rallies, maternal health education as well as regular check-ups for 800 community members.

Dr Bright Oniovokukor, the Regional Representative of Clearline Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) in Edo State spoke extensively on the need for improved maternal health through family planning, breastfeeding and early antenatal care.

He encouraged women to adhere strictly to information and education received from health practitioners during and after pregnancy, pointing out that every person has a right to respectful, quality, safe, and comprehensive maternal health care.
