LAPO Sensitises 83.4 Million Nigerians Against Cancers, Empowers 1.2 Million Persons
BENIN – Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) yesterday stated that it has sensitised 83,405,597 target community members against cancer, screened 38,595 persons, and referred 26,215 for further screening and treatment in government-approved health facilities with four years.
The organisation has also created massive awareness about cancer in over 46 communities across the country between November 2016 and December 2020, under the organization’s C4 project.
Dr. Honestus Ayobami Obadiora, Acting Executive Director of LAPO, who made the disclosure during an interactive forum with Journalists in Benin City, said 274,929 persons were reached with direct services in target communities while 976,368 were empowered through Information, Education and Communication materials.
