LAPO Sensitizes 83.4 Million Nigerians Against Cancer In Four Years
Benin- Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) says it has sensitized 83,405,597 target community members against cancer, screened 38,595 persons and referred 26,215 for further screening and treatment in government-approved health facilities within four years.
The organization has also created massive awareness about cancer in over 46 communities across the country between November 2016 and December 2020, under the organization’s C4 project.
The Acting Executive Director, Dr. Honestus Ayobami Obadiora who disclosed this during an interactive forum with Journalists in Benin City said 274,929 persons were reached with direct services in target communities while 976,368 were empowered through Information, Education, and Communication materials.
