LAPO Tasks Agency On Improved Health Services in Edo

The Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) has tasked the Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) on the provision of quality healthcare services for Edo indigenes.

The Executive Director, Dr Honestus Ayobami Obadiora gave the charge during advocacy visit to the Executive Secretary of the agency in Benin City, Edo State.

He identified shortages of basic equipment including ambulance for emergency services in Primary Health Centres, prohibitive high cost of cancer treatment and inadequate personnel for prompt medical treatment.

Dr Obadiora restarted the unwavering commitment of LAPO to the empowerment of poor and vulnerable people in Nigeria through the implementation of innovative financial and non-financial development programmes,

Responding, the Executive Secretary, EDSPHCDA, Dr. Julie Osarenokemen Erhabor commended LAPO’s contributions to improving the health and social conditions of the poor, especially Edo people.

She solicited for the support of LAPO in the upgrading of Primary Health Centres in the State, renovation of ailing health facilities and training of health workers, adding that the State Government was already addressing most of the raised by the LAPO team towards ensuring a better healthcare system.
