Honestus Ayobami Obadiora PhD
Dr Honestus Ayobami Obadiora is the Executive Director of LAPO. He holds PhD, MA, BA degrees (Physical & Health Education) from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is Board-certified in public health (NBPHE), IUHPE-Registered Health Promotion Practitioner, and Master Business Consulting Professional™. He has attended several professional development training programmes including Intensive Reproductive and Family Health Course (Univ. Ibadan, Com Medicine); Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NDE/Nigeria); Leading Change Through Policymaking (British Council); Project Management (Inter-American Development Bank, ATHE, TQUK); Human Resource Management for USAID Implementing Partners (MSH); Social Policy for Social Services & Health Practitioners and; Foundation of Global Health Specialization Program of Johns Hopkins University amongst others. Obadiora is a member of several professional bodies, a well-experienced programme manager, and highly passionate about community-based initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing of the vulnerable in least developed countries.
Philomena Irowa Elijah
Mrs. Philomena Irowa Elijah heads the Corporate Services department of Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO). She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Administration from the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State.
Before she joined LAPO in the year 2000 as a Programme Officer, she worked in various capacities at Okungbowa and Sons, Benin City, Elf Oil Nigeria Ltd and Abia State Sports Council, Umuahia, amongst other engagements. Mrs. Elijah who has vast experience in programme conception, design and implementation has attended several training on Programme Implementation, Gender Mainstreaming, Enterprise and Skills Development in partnership with DFID, Illori (2004), Management of NGOs at the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Lagos (2007), Strategy to Execution at Phillip Business School West Africa (2009), Capacity Building for Local Empowerment organized by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives, Warri (2012), study visit on Social Empowerment and Enterprise Development to BRAC, Bangladesh in year 2012, Senior Management Training Programme in Lagos Business School in 2015 and many other numerous in-house training programmes.
Tessa Obiageli Anota-Aizebeokhai
Tessa Anota is the General Manager, Corporate Planning and Performance Management. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health Education (MPHE) from the University of Benin (2011), B.Sc. (Ed.) in Physical/Health Education from the Lagos State University, Certificate in Health Social Sciences Implementation Research from the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana (2005); Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation of Donor-Funded projects (2011), Certificate in Research Design, Data Management and Statistical Analysis using SPSS from Nairobi, Kenya (2018), amongst many others.
To prepare her for development work, she was trained by the British Department for International Development (DFID) under the Capacity Building for Decentralised Development programme facilitated by the University of Reading, UK, with certificates in Organisational Development and Management, Information and Communications, Project management, People Management, Proposal Development and Financial management for non-financial managers. She equally holds certificates in the training of trainers’ workshop for NGO’s on Managing HIV/AIDS in the workplace organised by Academy for Educational Development (AED) USA, as well as on NGO management organised by Development Resource Foundation, a Ford Foundation/British Council Initiative.
Before Joining LAPO in 2006 as Senior Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation, Anota worked with the Women’s Health and Action Research Centre (WHARC) as Programme Officer, Research and later Programme Officer, Media and Advocacy. She also worked with the Committee on Vital Environmental Resources (COVER) as Programme Coordinator as well as with the Development Communications Network (DEVCOMS), a Public Health Journalism NGO, as the Project Administrator with an interest in conducting qualitative research. She is equally a seasoned trainer and has facilitated many capacity-building sessions in the area of Proposal development, Report writing, Logical framework, NGO development, Monitoring and Evaluation, etc for NGOs/CBOs.
Anota is a Certified Management Consultant and a Fellow of International Management Consulting.
Barr Vera Asenoquan is the organization’s head of Corporate Affairs. She was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2001. She had a distinguished career in legal practice before joining LAPO in 2007.
Asenoquan is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Society of Corporate Governance of Nigeria, and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Corporate Administration (FCIA). She has attended several professional training programmes and conferences in arbitration, mediation and reconciliation as well as corporate governance and administration. She sits as secretary of several committees of the LAPO Board of Directors.
James-Wisdom Abhulimen is head of Advocacy & Communications and joined LAPO in 2002 as Publications Officer. Abhulimen holds a Master’s degree in Communications Management, Delta State University (2010), Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration, University of Benin (2006), HND in Mass Communication, Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu (1998) and ND in Mass Communication from the Federal Auchi, Polytechnic (1994).
He is a highly skilled and versatile professional with over 20 years’ experience in Journalism and Corporate Communications, Policy Advocacy, Project Management, Reputation and Brand Management, Client Relationship and Event Management.
A fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCIA) and a certified member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), he has attended several Professional Development Training Programmes and has published several insightful articles on microfinance, poverty and development in the media and development magazines.
Mr. Andrew Udah holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Extension, Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agricultural Extension and Management. He joined LAPO in 2007 and is currently head of Resource Mobilization and Proposal Development in the organisation. Mr. Udah is a specialist in Community/Rural Development and has been involved in several rural development initiatives in LAPO which include value chain analysis of various crops and its implementation, Nigerian Agricultural Enterprise Curriculum Training for crop farmers and fishers, needs assessment of LAPO Microfinance (farmer) clients, assessment of marketing prospects of locally-produced rice in Edo State and rural/agricultural financing.
Mr Alfred Oboh functions as head of LAPO Rural Development Initiative (LARDI), the credit arm of Lift Above Poverty Organisation, LAPO. He joined the organisation in 2003 and has served in various capacities as Branch Manager, Area Manager, Monitoring Personnel and head of Operations/IT Risk Management in LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited.
Oboh has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education and member of the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management (CILRM). He is an accredited Certified Microfinance Banker by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and has attended several capacity development training programmes locally and internationally.
Mr Omotoye has over 14 years’ experience in Microfinance with specialization in Credit Operations. He holds Higher National Diploma (HND) in Town and Regional Planning from the Ondo State Polytechnic, now rechristened Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.
His career in LAPO began in 2007 and has functioned in different capacities as Branch Manager, Area Inspector and State Area Manager before his appointment as head of Operations in LAPO Rural Development Initiative. Presently, he is the head of Risk Management and Monitoring in LARDI.
Omotoye is a member of the Chartered Institute of Loan & Risk Management (CILRM) and has attended several capacity development training programmes and seminars on credit administration.
Lucky Idahosa joined Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) in 2009 as an Internal Auditor and rose to the position of Regional Auditor in 2011. In 2013, he was appointed head of Internal Audit and Control in the organisation and currently holds the position of Finance Manager
In 2001, he obtained a diploma in Accounting from the University of Benin, Benin City and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the Delta State University, Abraka in 2006.
A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Idahosa has attended several Training/workshops including Corporate Risk Management and Control; Role of Risk-Based Auditing, Tax Practice Sector, International Financial Reporting Standard Analysis Training (IFRS), Risk-Based Information System Auditing, Internal Control, Compliance and Risk Management, and Management Best Practices.
Monday Egharevba heads the Operations/IT unit of LAPO Rural Development Initiative (LARDI) and has 14 years cognate experience in Microfinance and Enterprise Development.
Egharevba obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state in 2001 and has served as Branch Manager, Area Manager, Mega Branch Manager, Area Inspector and Divisional Manager since joining Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) in 2007.
A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), he has attended several capacity and leadership development training programmes and workshops including, Total Quality Management organized by LAPO Institute (2012), Leadership training organized by LAPO Institute (June 2016), AFOS Training on Agricultural Value Chain organized by LAPO institute (2017), Business Development training organized by Frankfurt School of Business (2013), Corporate Financial Analysis training organized by Corporate Financial Institute, CFI (2020), and Tax Management/ Practice organized by ICAN in 2021.
Egharevba is specialised in microfinance credit operations and management.
Izekor Obomwan joined Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) in 2015 as a resident Auditor and currently the Head of Audit & Internal Control.
An Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Obomwan holds a Higher National Diploma in Accounting (2009) from the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria.
Before joining LAPO, he worked with Sterling Bank Plc and has vast experience in banking and accounting. He has attended several training programmes in finance and financial investigation.
