Resource Mobilization/Proposal Development Specialist
Job Location: Benin City, Edo State.
Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), a non-profit community development organisation based in Benin City, is seeking a skilled and experienced Resource Mobilization/Proposal Development Specialist to strengthen our funding pipeline.
LAPO is committed to using innovative approaches to deliver sustainable financial, health, and social services to its stakeholders across Nigeria.
We are looking for a dynamic professional to lead the development of compelling funding proposals and contribute to mobilizing resources that support our mission-driven programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop effective funding strategies and monitor upcoming grant opportunities, ensuring adequate preparation time for large-scale, collaborative proposals.
- Lead the creation of proposal development strategies, including timelines, team coordination, and preparatory meetings.
- Design fundable proposal concepts with strong work plans, budgets, and results frameworks that meet high-quality standards and increase success rates for grant awards.
- Coordinate regular proposal review sessions to ensure alignment with donor requirements and expectations.
- Establish formal agreements with partners/resource organisations and maintain comprehensive archives of all proposal materials.
- Support new business development and pre-positioning efforts in collaboration with the Programme and Business Development team.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of proven experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization
- Strong technical writing, editing, formatting, research, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and ability to apply branding standards to proposal layouts
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe, Dropbox, and other collaboration tools
- Familiarity with programme design methodologies such as logic models, results frameworks, and theories of change.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and work remotely when required.
