LAPO Boosts Poultry Farming with N900M
In a significant push to enhance poultry farming in Nigeria; Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) disbursed N900,173,000 to 654 poultry farmers from January to October 2024.
The disbursement is part of LAPO’s efforts to improve the livelihood of stakeholders through the LAPOHousehold Poultry initiative (LAHPI).
The LAHPI initiative has been instrumental in empowering poultry farmers, especially in rural areas to improve their productivity and income levels, thereby promoting economic growth and enhancing nutrition in rural communities.
According to Dr Victor Noruwa, Executive Director, Microfinance Segment, the intervention is critical in addressing the challenges faced by the poultry sector, including low productivity, technical inefficiencies, and limited access to finance.
He said LAPO is contributing to the growth of the agricultural sector, improving food security, and enhancing the overall well-being of rural communities.
