LAPO Supports Rural Farmers with N31.5Bn
Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO), a leading non-governmental organization disbursed N31,500,000,000 to support rural farmers from January to October 2024. The significant investment aims to boost rural agriculture and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers across Nigeria.
The loan was disbursed to 170,102 farmers across 318 branches in 22 states of the federation through the LAPO LAPO Agricultural and Rural Development Initiative, (LARDI).
The Executive Director, Microfinance Segment, Dr Victor Noruwa said the support is expected to enhance agricultural productivity, increase food security, and promote economic growth in rural communities.
He stated that LAPO’s commitment to rural agriculture is aligned with its mission to empower marginalized communities and promote sustainable development. Through LARDI, the organization aims to increase access to financial services, improve agricultural productivity, and reduce poverty among rural farmers.
